Unusual Intruder

Can anyone ID this weird snail that I just plucked out of my tank yesterday? I say weird, because unlike every other snail I've encountered, this one is flat. I don't think I am explaining this well, lol. Most snails carry their shells upright on their backs, this one the shell lay flat against my tank wall, so it was carried on the side. It's a new one for me!

Not only a ramshorn snail but almost looks like one of the German Pink Ramshorn snails!? Thy are gorgeous!

Really?!?

Don't ramshorns carry their shells upright though? Is this one 'flopped' over for a reason? Lol, please forgive my lack of technical jargon on this subject!

Looks like its just pulled back into its shell? Or its shells too heavy?

Well, he was lying flat against the glass when I found him. Maybe I'll keep him in my 'snail tank' (breeding pond snails for food items in a small tank...another random experiment of mine!) and see if he straightens out after a while. Now that he is out of my main tank, he's welcome to stay!

Is this snail a good thing? My tank had loads and loads of them so I got assassins to kill them... still have the odd one though.
