i'm setting up my first betta tank and would like to get something unusual to be a bottom dweller. was thinking of things like snail, shrimp, lobster, something like that. are these ok???? any other ideas? feel free to give me ideas! :good:

lobster will prob eat ur betta lol

shrimps r nice, altho personally i dont like em, they creep me out lol

Perhaps an Apple snail or an African dwarf frog.

Snails are heavy on the bioload apparently, so depends on the tank size. What size is it? Shrimps are pretty cool, but there is a risk the betta would eat them, same with the frogs I think. I've also heard of bettas harassing snails terribly too! What about unusual fish? Again, depends on size

I have an african dwarf frog in with one of my bettas and they get along just fine.

I have some Cherry Shrimp in my 5 gal with one of my males. He doesn't bother with them at all and I have a clump of Java Moss for them to hide in.

cherry shrimp are great! they are also very quick so the betta wont be able to eat them.

hmmm some good ideas there, thanks. the tank is only small, about 5 gal so not much room for a lot.
