Hello,
Well the purpose of registering here today was to ask about two new gourami's I recently purchased.
They're pinkish red, with a bright aqua/blue spot along the top of the bodies, started at the tip of their dorsel fin, and going all the way down to their tail. The fin is the same blue as well, and there is a hint of white between the two colors, with the red being pinker along that edge and darker red towards the bottom of their body.
The body shape is the same as my blue gourami's, not at all like my dwarf gourami's. They're currently only about .75" long. I bought them from a pet store in our local mall, over the weekend so the employee's working weren't very helpful about the fish in general (not to different during the week either). The store caries a WIDE varietal of some very unique fish though, so I buy most of them from there.
They were just labelled as "Sm. Gourami", so I don't know what breed they are. I'm hoping someone here might though. I'll try to get a picture of them later today when I get home from work.
My only answer is that they're just some random hybrid.
I'm mostly interested for pairing reasons. If I could distingruish the sexes I would like to go back and get a specific sex if need be.
