Hi peoples,

I want some help or sugestions really on what could have happened.

I have just in the passed hour lost 2 of my HM males. Both went the same way. They was ok at 2am when i went up and then they seemed ok this morning however when i went up a little while ago marble was laying on his side still breathing but fairly lifeless so i quickly scooped him out and put him in shallow water then i noticed my little punk was head down in his marbles, i though how cute and till he didn't move at all so i scooped him out and he was in the same state as marble so i done the same and put him in shallow water. Any way both died and on of the other boys from the barracks seemed a little off colour so i have put hin im shallow water too but he is still upright and moving about. So what happened. All water stats are ok, there has been no fluctuation in heat and fins are all good. I feed 6 days a weeks leaving one day break. Any ideas. I did clean the outside of the glass but i'm sure none went in the water.

Please help i feel so bad, like i have let them down :-(

Oh hun, I can't add anything constructive as to cause of deaths, but just wanted to offer you a hug because I know how you must be feeling xxxxxxxxx

when was you last waterchange? did you use declor or Reverse osmosis water? whats you ammonia and nitrIte? its got to be one of those, so if you could post the answers/results soon it might help save the rest.

As i said all water stats read normal

Amonia 0
Nitrate 0
PH 6
GH 30
I always use dechlorinator and water changed two days ago ready for another tomorrow (all are sponge filtered). My other 3 boys are in the same age and type of water and thoes 3 are fine. Though i have still moved them out and removed all water added clean and treated it, will add boys back next weekend. I'm pretty sure its not the water conditions as it has always been done the same for the last 2 months give or take. 1 was old but the other was my lovely young platinum. i am totally puzzled.

On looking it looks like big red might go too :(

Thanks Mel and bubbleburst it never rains it pours ay what with losing my first Betta a few days back now these 2 (3) sorta makes me feel useless

I know this is gonna sound dumb, but you know when you cleaned the glass at the front with cleaner, is there no way it could have got into the tank? I know you were careful, I'm just thinking of every possibility because I know for sure it can't be your water UNLESS the water company has got rid of something lately through the water... they do things like that, the twisted mo fo's

That's such a shame, devon. Not sure which one you're marble is, but the platinum was a fave of mine on this forum
Can't think myself what it could've been..

Again, sorry for you're losses. I hope the rest stay well for you.

I was thinking perhaps the cleaning stuff though i'm not sure how, and even if i did it would have been the smallest amount. I am trying so hard to rack my brain to think of what i may have done, though yesturday was all a bit of a blur and many silly things happened - not to my fish i may add this is my only strange happening with them. Perhaps i did not get it all off my hands properly, i am usually so carefull when using chemicals near them though its looking like it may be the only possible explanation, i may have killed them

Thes lil guys are all out in fresh water moved them all as soon as i noticed the others. Cleaned all sections of the barracks out 100% refilled and treated for any nasties. Will keep fish in their containers until next weekend when i will change the water again and re introduce them. I'm still uncertain but cleaning with damp cloth only from now on.

sounds good, not fish dieng but your plan.

and that orange and clear betta on the right of your sig, i have one exactly like it only red.

That sounds like a nice fishkie. Why do we never see any pics of you fish. You havn't added to the pic thread and it sounds like you have some real nice bettas.

This is going to be the dumbest post in the thread, but does anyone else have access to your bettas? Maybe someone knowingly or unknowingly hurt them?

Thats not dumb at all. The only person that would have access to them is my mum but she knows what she's doing now and would not touch them unless it was required.

Would alot of cuffufle affect them in any way light light, alot of movement and loud noise really late at night? Its probably not that any way as it was only the 3 and they were next to each other but thought i would ask
