Unknown cloudiness

I just did my regular water change, and a problem immediately occured. The water suddenly turned cloudy. I didn't do anything different than in the past, except since my last change I added a new airstone.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

What color or tint does the cloudiness appear to be? Dark or light, or grey? Mine was white, it was a bacteria bloom. So you didn't add any new fish into your tank? Did you let your air stone soak for a while in declorinated water before putting it into the tank?

it's a light grayish tint. The airstone was put in after my last water change a week ago, and it didn't have any problems then.

Sounds like bacteria bloom. Try small daily water changes and see if it clears up after a few days.
