I am curious as to what you all feed your fish that you consider "unique" compared to the typical stuff. Im looking to change up my fish's diet and want to know of some things I could feed em that they would like. Mostly NW Cichlids.

This past summer I fed live mosquito larvae. Mosquitos are a real problem around where I live and I'm constantly on the lookout for anywhere that water accumulates because the little monsters will breed there. This past summer, instead of dumping the water, I strained out the larvae whenever I found them and fed them to my fish. They really seemed to enjoy them. Next summer, I think I'll leave a container of water out to collect them. I just have to make sure I check it often, before they reach adulthood.

Set up a tank to breed apple snails, i have found that most large Cichlids love small snails as a treat every now and again, as do almost all large carnivorous fish.
