Unipac Black Coloured Sand

Hello,

Has anyone used Unipacs black coloured sand?

It doesn't look impressive on the website but its very fine sand, which is what I've been searching for.

I currently have Tahitian moonsand and while it is sand...the grains are thicker than what I would like and many are brown.

If anyone has used it and has pictures, It would be a big help to see them and hear your reviews.

I bought 2 bags worth last weekend, To me it's more 3/4 of the way to being sand it's still actually large grains though the colour of it is fantastic for fish etc. However it does just look like black glass that has been crushed (close up). Then there are a few bits of non black coloured pieces (dark brownish).

However once its in the tank it's great, it's quite a good price so! It's also Cory friendly!

Yes I used to use it on my tanks, because I liked the black colour. The only downside to it, is how much washing it takes to get it clean, it takes a very long time even on a small amount, the bowl I used to clean it and my hands were black literally when I finished cleaning it, obviously it has a lot of dye used on it, but once clean it looks great and brings out the colours of fish really well compared IME to light coloured sand.
