Ungluing Slate

i glued two pieces of 3x3x0.5" slate tiles together, one on top of each other at the halfway point, like in the diagram below:

the silicone has cured, as it's been a few days since i glued them together.

my question is, how do i unglue them without damaging the two pieces of slate?

Vinegar and and a razor blade or thin blade should work, Glad you to see you decided yo use the slate. Did you mess up on your designing?

i decided to go with another design at the last minute.

unfortunately for me, i just used a dry knife to slice through the silicone. it detached the slate tiles, but i wound up stabbing and cutting myself (minor cuts). the knife looked pretty banged up too.

the worse part, though, is that i realized just after ungluing the tiles that i didn't have to do it, as it wouldn't have exceeded the maximum length anyway.

so lessons of the day: don't silicone stuff together unless you're sure you won't have to unglue them, and don't unglue siliconed stuff unless you're sure you really need to.

This gave me a good laugh sorry, as I have done pretty much the same thing. Set up all the rocks and silicone them just to decide I dont like it and unsilicone it, only to find, I kinda liked it the way I had it
