There are "under water water-falls" that use the illusion of sand as a constant stream flow. Try your local pet store or ebay.

no, you out an air stream under a perspex sheild.....the air runs under the perspex, so you can see the bubbles running horizontally, then the air bubble come out the end, and rise in a reversae waterfall kinda way......

no no, something FAR simpler in design than that....

literally a perspex "box" with an open end to let the bubbles go up.....

Well if you know exactly what they look like, why don't you just buy them where you saw them ?

Sounds simple enough to DIY with a small airstone, plexiglass and some silicone sealant
