Undergravel Filter Cleaning

Well everything is going well. I put my first 8 fish in my cycled tank a week ago and so far so good - all well and happy and all water readings spot on!

Thank you to everyone who helped me by answering my questions and now id like to pick your brains some more please! I have an undergravel filter system - how and whats the best way of cleaning please? Obviously I hoover the gravel but should I stir it up a bit or literally just hoover? And is there anything else i should do?

if there is nothing added to the substrate then actually push the gravel cleaner into the gravel and wait until the water coming out is clean. then lift the gravel cleaner out of the gravel and move it to another spot and do the same thing.

If there is laterite or something else in the substrate to encourage plant growth, then just hoover the top layer.
