Hi sanka101,

The members probably need more info to get them started. How long has the tank been set up? How long did the cycle take and are you including that time in the time since setup? Substrate type? Description of gravel cleaning technique and frequency? Percentage of weekly water change? Any chemicals added? Test kit make/type? Number and size of fish and tank size?

~~waterdrop~~ :)

Ive had it set up for about 3 months not encluding a two week fish less cycle(used water from other aquarium and substrate) and a 2 week fish cycle(guppies). I have natural looking med- fine gravel purchused at PetsMart. I thuroly washed in boilling water and let it soak...I use a net ti pick up any extra food and use a gravel vacuum exsesively every 5-8 days. With a water change of at leased 60% weekly(sometimes smaller changes inbetween) I use Nutrafin(HAGEN): Cycle- fish loss reducer(Nitrifier?), helps mature new tanks & Waste Control- Organic waste Eliminator(Breaks down waste). I also use Prime(Seachem)- Clorine, Chloramine,& Ammonia Conditioner (detoxifies nitrate& nitrite), and Api- Auarium Salt (helps slim coat?[not used often as its bad for corys]). I have been using :Quick dip(Jungle)- 6 in one test Strips(using up then getting liquid tester) and ive have a friend test my water with her aqua test kit(dont know what brand) and we got the same test.

29 g. 2 albino cories, 1 pepperd cory, 2 neons(getting more), 2 kribensis (selling), Shoal of guppies(selling).
----------inhabitants (eventualy once problem clears and fish sell)-------
2 albino cories, 2 pepperd cories, 7 neons, 4 black neons, 3 otocinclus, 3 African Dwarf frogs, dwarf Gorami(male), maybe a Betta (Female).

As a quick late nite assesment I recommend continuing to use the Seachem Prime as your conditioner (for treating new tap water when doing your weekly water changes) but stopping the use of everything else you list. You should replace the paper strip tests with a liquid-reagent based test kit. Many of us like and use the API Freshwater Master Test Kit. The paper strip tests are worse than useless, they are misleading! I suspect one or more of the other unneeded chemicals you list is responsible for the cloudy water.

Thank i though they were helping. I kow im almost done my brand new strips  and plan to buy a liqued test.
Im angrey my friend that lent me her kit turns out one of her viles have a crack(i didnt use that one i swear) and when she went to open it it sharterd so she took it back but SHE GOT PAPER TESTS INSTED!!!
very angry she said she the strips are fine and she decided to buy blood worms for her BGK insted(GRRRR)

assuning liqiud test show all good as far aw ater aprameter, how deep is your substate, what do you feed your fish and how often, and how long are you lights on for/day? what type of lighting (should say on the end of the bulb).
cheers

Sounds to me like your tank wasnt cycled properly before you added your fish - 2 weeks is not long enough and you have a large fish load there - did you add a lot at a time? Cloudy water usually means your bacterial levels are not high enough to cope with the load, and therefore your tank is still cycling - its not dirty and cleaning it and changing the water wont make much difference it will come back again.

Get yourself a proper liquid test kit. If your ammonia or nitrite levels are up then do a 50% water change and do that every day until they reach 0. Once your bacteria grow you will find that the water will gradually clear. Dont be tempted to Add chemicals to try to clarify the water these are useless and will often hamper the cycling process,
