Fish Crazy
Uncle Ned's Fish Factory, Millis MA
I accidently found myself not far from a fish store in Millis MA I had read a little about. I decided to take a detour and see what it was like.
The place is FILLED with tanks of different types of fish. Being a novice, I can't tell you what they all were (other than the bettas!) but they ranged in size from TEENY to BIIIG! They had some blue and orange shrimp that were much smaller than the ones up in Framingham (see thread) other than some that were BIG and far too spider-like for me! Lots of rocks and wood for 'scaping, and a so-so amount of supplies. Plant variety didn't impress THOUGH their website says they have tanks outside during warm weather. I bought two smallish bits of driftwood to experiment with.
I have to confess, I expected the bottom of the tanks to be cleaner BUT it may be that the sheer quantity of fish on display make a LOT of poo! Don't expect a lot of pretty tankscapes, either. But all tanks have sponge filters and the fish seemed very healthy and active. I could FEEL all those fishy eyes on me the entire time!
SORRY, I didn't take any pics...
