One of my two bettas is less or totally unagressiev comapre dto the other, the first oen I got flare sup so much when he sees the secodn one, through the galss of his bowl but the onme I got a few weeks back is totally cool dosent even bothe rwhen he sees the fist one through the glass.

all have their own personalitys, however a hidden illness or simply old age can slow them down and make them more nonagressive. if he is otherwise eating, pooping and swimming around good I would say hes fine, if not I would try a boiled pea and perhaps some meds.

Just personality as others have said. I had a divided tank with one guy that would flare himself silly.... the other guy could care less until he saw his own reflection

My Baby is as cissy as his name! :p I have NEVER seen him flare, and he is even quite sedate when begging for food! Whereas my other boys like to flare and jump around like idiots at the sight of me!

Us too......got some that go beserk and other's that run from their own reflections
