My female Sailfin mollly has had a swelling of the eye a couple of times in both, one each time.
the eye looks like a bubble around it, then a couple of days later it would dissapear

now today i have noticed around 5 white spots under her fins they are kind of clumped together.

None of my other fish in the tank have ever had these symptoms

my tank was set up in november and fishless cycled, ammonia and nitrite always 0

How big are the spots. Are they the size of a grain of salt.
Do they look like a cauliflower or a cluster of berries.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.

That swollen eye with a bubble around it is commonly known as "Pop eye" and can be treated with MYXAZIN (in UK) - or another anti-bacterial medication that treats this disease.

Has the fish lost any weight? Any rapid breathing?

This type of bacterial disease can be brought on by several things - overfeeding, poor tank hygiene, stress in the tank environment (can be physical or mental stress), feeding live foods that are contaminated...

Sailfin mollies are prone to pop eye too.

I had a sailfin molly who was being bullied in the tank and she developed popeye very quickly (overnight) - I treated with Myxazin straight away and within 2 days she was fine again (oh and I moved the bully out!)

Regards -Athena

She hasnt lost any weight, but i know exactly why she gets it, its all down to the male sailfin molly. Im currently cycling another filter so i can move her out... oh yeah and buying another tank...

The spots are like a grain of salt, they dont look fuffly or anything, probably a cluster of berries? but it is hard to tell :S

it sounds like whitespot if there the size of a grain of salt.
Is she rubbing herself on things in the tank.

Is it possible to load a pic up of the spots.
