We just found a very strange thing in our fish tank.

1stly I will say, we dont feed live foods, only frozen, and no new tank additions for a month including plants.

It is about an inch long and very thin, has 6 legs, eyes, a tail with 3 prongs on it and it eats shrimp pellets (because we have taken it out and fed it to see what happens). Its extremly fast and squigles like a worm when swimming.

Here are the pics and please excuse the bluryness but you couldnt see it unless we zoomed up.

Ewww, slightly like the first one, but how would a dragon fly get to my tank to lay eggs?

It has wings I forgot to add.

Actually, ignore all of the other species, we just looked it up more and we think its definitly a Damsefly Nymph.

Will there be more in my tank possibly or just the one?

Are they a threat to the fish?

Can I release him in the river across the road to grow up and fly away.

Here is a link..

its a threat to small fishes or frys if you have any they will eat it, go release it in the lake or flush it down the toliet

Thanks.

Yes it ate our guppy fry. We had 35 and are now left with 13 and were wondering where the hell they were going.

The girl at the LFS disposed of it for us.
