A friend has asked me to ask on here if anyone knows of any fish couriers? She's looking for someone to transport a tropical eel from Chatteris (Cambs) to Bury (Lancs).

If anyone knows of anyone, can they let me know?

Thanks

Kathy

Might be an obvious question but can she drive it herself?

If she could, I wouldn't be asking *lol*. It's a fair question though, but no she doesn't drive. Only other option is the train. So really she could use some courier contacts. :good:

Thanks :D

Sorry, was worth asking thou ;) cant help any more

Sam

Edit - Guess you could try phoning the shops that do live fish shipping and ask who they use? Or check their website.

I can't help on the courier front but you could maybe try looking in Yellow Pages to see if there are any local tank/pond maintainers in the area that would be willing to do it for a small fee? You know the ones that will come to your house or office and set up the tank and then keep coming back to clean it etc? They bring the fish in as well so at least they know about transporting fish. Just an idea, they might tell you to bugger off but it could be a good last resort?

I have a friend who works for a local courier service. He said while it would probably be possible to get a local courier it may be cheaper and safer for the fish if she did take it on the train herself or by any other mode of transport she can. I don't think these couriers are all that gentle. :/
