I am planning to have two 10 gallons tanks next to each other. Should I keep a male Betta in each tank or should one tank have a male and the other a female? (The tanks will have no other fishes, only a Betta each).

If you put a male in each tank, they will be flaring at each other all the time. If you put a male in one and a female in the other, they're gonna get horny.. I'm not an expert though..

If you wanted two males and wish to stop them flaring at eachother, simply put a piece of paper, or a book or a piece of card between the tanks to stop them seeing eachother. In a ten gallon tank you can have more than one female.

They will be fine. It's no different than a divided tank really. Just give them plenty of cover to retreat to and they will get bored of flaring at eachother 24/7.

Just make sure they do not have constant sight of eachother (ie place tall plants around the tanks).

mine was doing a lot of flaring and i couldnt understand why.. turns out he could see himself in the chrome smoothie maker  , moved it now
