Hello. I have 2 male bettas with different problems.
Both are in 4.5 gallon, aerated, heated tanks.
I changed both of their water(full change) in the last two days.
Their diet consists of three different brands of betta pellets, freeze dried daphnia and bloodworms as a treat once a week or so.
I give them a fast day at least once a week as well.
I use amquel/novaqua for condtioners, never had a problem with that.
First,Elvis. He has developed fin rot, which seems to not be getting any worse. Now he seems lethargic and having a hard time swimming. He does seem a bit lopsided when he stops to rest. I do see a slight bulge on one his side, near his tail. He tends to stay in one corner of the tank or under his bridge not wanting to do much. Someone suggest sbd,so I am starting his fast today. I have added aquarium salt to his water when changing it. He is not any medications.
Morado. His stomach is a bit swollen. But does not look like pictures of dropsy. His scales do not stick out like pinecones. Just swollen around the stomach area. I gave him some daphnia last night. Can not tell if swelling went down any or not. Does not look any worse today though.
As for poop for both,I have not seen either go recently. Morado has substrate in his tank,so it can be hard to tell. Elvis has no substrate as of right now,and I see none in there.
Thanks for any help.
