Twin Spot Goby

i just got a twin spot goby, who ive had for a week he is somehow still alive i have not seen him touch any frozen brine or mysis he does not sift sand at all but remains alive? he has dug himself a hole under a rock maybe hes eating under there is this common for twin spot gobys to start out like this in a tank?

not really to be honest. Mine sifted prob 2 hours after having them. but they didnt eat frozen for weeks
