Got the gravel from my lfs (Orpington, Kent) - just fine black gravel, although about £25 for the bag it's done good for both the 180's with quite a bit spare.

does the frontosa do ok with the other american cichlids?


with it being african and all but i kno its probably the one exception that you can keep out of a species tank cos it grows so huge!

The Frontosa's absolutely fine - actually gets on really well with both my Blood Parrot and Severum - call them the Three Amigos as they skulk about together

i really wanted one when i started mu malawi tank but then i found out about the size thing.


ive got my big cichlid tank now tho so i mite have another look for one.

very nice tanks, both of them, but you do know that the fronta and your american cichlids need different water perameters....
