They go along with the other pics I posted from the Virginia Beach Aquarium. I'm pretty sure the fish are some breed of Koi/comet goldfish. Not really sure however. The 12 yr old boy who volunteered at that exhibit didnt know either.......

a few of those fish are common carp, and there is 1 pic of a snapping turtle, and a few terrapins i think :)

The poor snapping turtle was in this little glass enclosure. Looked maybe about the size of a 90 USG wide tank. Not very big at all. As you can tell from the pic, he doesn't look too happy. He would love to be in his own little murky pond in which he could dig himself down into the mud and wait for little fishies to swim by :fish: :p

or bread....... lol when i was out fishing a couple of weeks ago i was catching some reasonably sized carp and tench, then after watching my float for around 15 mins, my float dissapeared under the surface, i struck and it felt like there was nothing there but weed, after reeling it in i realised that it wasn't weed it was a 8lb 5oz snapping turtle  i didn't know what to do really, so what i done was got my pike glove out of my bad and gripped either side of its shell, the little buggers try to bite lol :p didnt get me though :look: anyway after trying to take the hook out, after nearlly half an hour i got the hook out, this thing was incredible they are soooo strong, claws really sharp and jaws like a staffature bull terrier :grr: i had to snap a few pics of it, i would post them up but they are on my other comp.

all in all a great days fishing  :good:

It really sucks that some public aquariums just have fish and other animals just for the sake of having them on show. What do they care if they have a snapper in 90USG tank, if they still have coustemers then to them nothing it the matter. Arnt public aquariums ment to be saving and encoraging responsible animal keeping because with this standard of care they are really showing themselves up.

I agree. They should be promoting the health and happiness of animals that they house!
