Turtle vs. Minnow

man that's awful. I wouldn't mind it if you let the minnow stand a chance, but when you stick the poor things head in the turtle's mouth he's pretty much done for. but It's the food chain so oh well. I have no room to talk. I hold crickets in front of my newts to try to get them to eat the bugs. But they won't eat um unless they catch them themselves.

haha thats awsome dude, nice vid..

u should see when my brothers pacman frog eats a fish, he just sticks out his big long tounge, and latchs it and thats it... its awsome

haha I'd love to see a video of that

nice video by the way ;)

hey man i simply enjoyed the video dude
it was fantastic....
anyway i don't care what the others say but i'm a fan of keeping native fish...i've got 8 harllequin rosbaros in my tanks and they can be found wild in singapore

well, now i have a 55 gallon for the native stuff...

they really like it...

can you tell i am getting addicted to the fish scene?

2 months ago i buy a 10 gallon... a month later another 10 gallon...

then 2 weeks ago my 20 gallon...

and now my 55 gallon...

i think i have what i want, now... and will be posting more videos of my fish and turtles...

Great video. Especially enjoyed the running commentary. :p Next time I feed one of my newts a ghost shrimp, I'll try to put a video up here.

Great video!

Was that fish (Merlin 2) a feeder or one you already had?

he was a minnow i caught in a creek...

i have about 70 of them, and i put the pregnant ones in the breeding nets... then, occassionaly i am putting some of the new babies(fry?) in the tank for my turtles and fish to eat... and the rest i am just keeping with the minnows...

the only fish i really want with my turtles are native fish i catch, or fish that are fast enough and big enough, not to be eaten by him...

Dare not look at the video, is it like that one where the guy put an oscar in a P tank and it got torn to bits? after watching that I dont want to see other fish torn to bits.

:) Me neither , Jon

It just shows the turtle catching and eating a little minnow and also another part where the owner holds the minnow over the water and the turtle comes up and eats it and that about it.
Good filming though.
Personally i don't realy have anything against that kind of thing, its just what happens in the wild anyway and we have thousands of animals alive today that wouldn't be here if they didn't eat other animals.

Trevelyn, I have a few questions. How big is the turtle? What size tank? How the hell do you keep it planted?! Any time I put plants in my turtle tank they either bite the crap out of them, tear them up, or both. And what do you have to help them get out of the water? Just wondering, cuz they things I have tried haven't worked that well.
Sean
EDIT: Also, what size/kind of filter?
