i just read the ingredients off a can of wardley shrimp pellets and one of them is tubifex worms. i recall reading that they were bad for fish, but forgot what it was. anyone know what's so bad about tubifex worms?
are you referring to live or freeze-dried tubifex worms?
shucks! and i was looking forward to getting wardley shrimp pellets for my cories too!
by the way, is it safe to feed fish freeze-dried bloodworms?
I will only use freeze dried tubilex worms had no trouble with them.
interestingly
case of piscine TB found in the wild only occure in bodies of water that contain tubifex Tubifex tubifex
taking tubifex from the wild is never a good idea, however most sellers of tubifex raise their own in unpolluted waters and should be safe.
Frozen tubifex is almost always gamma irradiated to kill any pathogens.
Freeze dried tubifex, again should not contain any pathoegens due to the freezing prcoess, but freeze dried foods can cause some internal problems, like bloat or constipation.
to sum up
generaly speaking
live or frozen tubifex is ok.
