trying to save a few fish

As you can see from my sig, my neons are dwindling lately. Once I get this problem figured out and stabilized, I'm thinking of trading in the neons (what ever are left) and getting something a little more hardy. I love neons, I just seem to always kill them.So I think I better leave them to someone who can take care of them right. I am thinking of 1 or 2 dwarf gouramis? Would they do ok in my tank with the others? If not, any other suggestions?
