hi,
im trying one water change a week (which is all i have time for realy) and lots of fast growing plants and a Nitra-Zorb bag in my filter - but my nitrate (NO3) is still very high - however, it has dropped.

currently i have:

NO2 - 0
NO3 - 60
PH - 7.8
KH - 8
GH - 16

how could I lower it even more? :/

Do you know what the nitrate content of your tap water is, (or where you get your tank water from)? Worth checking, it could be that your water changes are putting back what your chemicals/plants are taking out.

60 is certainly on the high side.

doing a water change tomorrow night so will test it.

it used to be 100 - so these things ive done have helped a little, still high though

What filtration does you have?

To get nitrate down you need to keep the substrate and media in the filter as clean as possible

the standard jewul one (its a rekord 60) i do keep them all clean, the water omes out very fast.

ill do my tap water test tomorrow.
