I set up my 55 gallon. Taking stuff out of my 29 gallon that was going threw cycling. Well it cycled in under a week. Probably due to use the filter and such. Any way I went to the local pet store. Picked up a albino catfish and some other fish(forget the name). Well the catfish is more yellow than a white. More I look it is a channel cat. But not real sure. I hope it isn't if so. Once it gets a couple inch's long it will go in a buddies pond.

It looks similar to this shark though. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3955256 Almost identical in shape and fin but yellow. Then the eye are more popped out looking. I would take a pic of it if I didn't loose my camera charger.

Anyone have any ideas....

Forgot to mention it is only like 3 1/2 in long maybe close to 4. Not sure how old it is but she has had it for at least a month.

Ok it is this I believe but yellowish white http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3955213 How big will it get in a 55 gallon and will it eat my tiger barbs?

Well I have no experience with that fish but the site says 75+ gallons and that's coming from a pet store, which tend to lower tank sizes so you're more likely to buy their fish, I would say it's going to get pretty big.

If its the one in the last link they get huge just google their name Pangasius Catfish and see what the images are like, at least you have a friend with a pond though it needs to be tropical and very very big as these fish range between 4-6 feet as adults and live for around 25 years.

I can try with my cell but it will probably be pretty crappy pic. He is actually pretty cool. I searched more and it seems to be what they call the shark forum of that last link. I got it from a local store and she wasn't much help. But after reading it looks like there is different breads of it. From small to big. Like the silver tipped shark in the above link. I think its growth is stunted though as it was only in a 10 gallon tank with a bunch of others fish.

But I have seen that in a tank they only get up to 12 in's with most not getting that big. Then I have seen the 3feet and such. I guess the only thing to do is watch and see what happens. I have my aunt that has a out door pond with a bunch of different fish. I know there is two channel cat in it. Then my friend actually has real a real pond. So he will go somewhere he would like.

Right now he is in a 55 gallon with 3 albino tiger barbs, 3 regular tiger barbs, 2 painted tetras, 2 long finned tetras, albino rainbow shark, 5 what I thought were tetra's but aren't they are minnow looking things. Silver with a red top and tail fin. Then two other fish I am unsure of. It is a tropical tank though. I know when they get bigger the tank will need to be bigger. But right now it is doing fine for them. Lots of hiding spots for the shark and cat.

The cat actually is very active top to bottom swimmer. Along with pretty fast.
