Hey there people! As with many of you, I have MTS (Multi tank syndrome) However I've done my best to limit my mts to two tanks (A third only if it's a hospital tank or for another emergency.) My current tanks are a 30 gal and a 20 gal.
In the 30 gal I have:
-1 Pearl Gourami
-3 Platys
-1 BNP
-Assorted snails and Cherry shrimp.
The tank has a Fluval 306 (70 gal capacity filter) and it a low tech setup. I'll be setting up CO2 for my plants soon, as I'm sure they should be growing faster 9And I have a CO@ unit just laying around)
In the 20 gal I have:
-7 Neon Tetras
-1BNP
-Assorted snails and shrimp
This tank has a stronger light and a more plant friendly substrate. It is also low-tech
So anyways, I really want a betta. I have a spare 5 gal just laying around that would be perfect for my desktop. I love the personality and the closeness I feel with having a Betta on my desk. You really get to know their personalities! But I have promised myself my MTS will not go past 2 tanks (Unless the third is a hospital tank) -I do this because both tanks are in the same room, as it's the only room in the house that doesn't get unreasonable amounts of natural sunlight.
I'm thinking that I'll add the 7 neons to my 30 gal (I've been planning it all along, but I got them when they were tiny and the Gourami may have eaten them, so I've let them grow up a bit in the 20 gal)
I don't think I can support 2 BNP (Plus one is male and the other female and I don't want to deal with offspring) So I'm thinking I'l take the female to the pet store and hopefully trade her in for a Betta.
But I have the possibility that I could divide up my tank (As I have multiple dividers) ad could get 4 male Betta's in my 20 gal. For that matter I could keep my BNP and buy 6 or so female Betta's and set up a sort of sorority in the 20 gal.
I guess really why I posted is that I want opinions. What would you guys do?
Should I downsize to a nice cozy 5 gal and pick out one lucky boy?
Should I divide up my 20 gal and pick out 4 lucky guys?
Should I keep my female BNP and add X number of females to create a sorority?
