Ok so I just got my clown plec (finally!!) but when I popped into my LFS for some pellets for him they started banging on about switching off the light and not feeding him for a day. I've never heard of this before but then this is the first time I've put a plec into my tank. He went into the tank at threeish but had been in a dark bag in a polystyrene box since being dispatched, 9 o' clock this morning. What would be best for him

Many stores give the advice to turn all lights off and not feed for the first 24hours after new fish are added, It is supposedly to help them fully acclimatise although I can't say I've ever followed the advice

i keep my lights off for a hour or 2 when adding new fish but nothing special about feeding lol
