Hi, I recently bought a tropical fish tank with all of the equipment (its not a huge tank just an average beginner one). I bought 3 honey gouramis, I've had them about two weeks now and they seem to be all settling in well. Just recently though, I have noticed the one larger gourami is getting abit darker on his back fin, the middle of it, and its lips, much darker than the other two who are still a nice orangey honey colour. Is this something I should be worried about?

Also over the last few days I've noticed abit of fin nipping and chasing going on mainly by the bigger gourami chasing the littler ones (who are alot more timid, they hide alot more). Is this normal?

Any comments or help would be muchly appreciated.

How many gallons is the tank? Do you know any of your water stats: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and PH?

It is a good chance that you have more than one male. They are agressive towards each other, so that is probably what you are seeing. But i'm not an expert on this type of fish.

Not sure on the gallons count, but its a 28 Litres, not huge. The PH was perfect as I had it tested before I put fish into the tank, think it could be more than one male.. its just whenever the Bigger gourami sees one of the smaller ones he tends to chase it away...

like Mikaila, i would like the tank dimensions, your current water stats and the water stats of your tank when the cycle had finished. before i could make any real helpful comments.
