(not sure which section this would go in)

i am thinking of getting 2 tropical frogs tomorrow what do they eat and do they need somewhere to hide.

when you say "tropical frogs" do you mean african dwarf or african clawed frogs? they are both fully aquatic but are greatly different when it comes to the size the grow to, the size tanks they need, lifespans etc

do more research before getting your frogs!

what size tank do you have? what fish are already in the tank?

the tank is 3 foot, 6 guppies, 6 silver tip tetras, 4 neon tetras, 1 swordtail, 6 cory and a pleco

24 fish in total and loads of snails that are doing my head in lol

from my experience african dwarf frogs are fairly easy to look after, they love eating fresh bloodworm, just make sure your tank has a good secure fitting lid or they will escape very quickly.

not sure weather they are african dwarf or african clawed frogs because when i was looking in the tank in the pet shop the frogs were yellow or orange

I think those are African Clawed Frogs. They will eat all your other fish - don't buy them.

Also, research more!

dwarf frogs have webbing on both hind and FRONT feet, and are rarely sold in albino (gold/yellow) form. clawed frogs have "fingers" on thier front feet (they lack webbing) and will grow large enough to eat some of your fish!!!
also keep in mind that dwarf frogs "hunt" by smell (have very poor eyesight). keeping them with fish requires that you actually watch them eat their food, as greedy fish will eat it before they can find it (gotta be positive they get their share-a pipette and some bloodworms usually takes care of this ). but in answer to your original question, it is a good idea to have hidey holes for the frogs. my dwarf frogs really appreciate their little hovels.
cheers

I wouldn't really recommend either one for a tank that size. The African Dwarf Frogs will have a difficult time competing for food and the African Clawed Frogs will eat the other fish. They are capable of swallowing a full grown corydoras.

ADFs are always brown. If you have seen albinos, also called "golden" frogs, they will always be ACFs. Do not believe any salesperson who tells you they will not grow big. The females can get to the size of a man's fist.

Both of these frogs make excellent pets but need the right environment and care. Whatever you do, take care that there are no openings in the top that give them the opportunity to get out. Both kinds are good jumpers and will escape if they can.
