Hi to all.

I'm completely new to the tropical fish thing, I decided to buy a small tank to put in the kitchen. I've joined to ask all kinds of questions as they arrise, hopefully to prevent me from making any massive errors.

what size tank are you considering - - because the smaller you start with, the more limited you are for stocking....you will quickly find yourself wishing to upgrade!!
also, I recommend you visit the beginners section and read up on "fish-less" cycling....meaning how to cycle and ready your tank and filter BEFORE you add fish....it take patience but it saves all your future fish from illness and death!


congrats on taking the initiative and learning before you jump in! it will be much less stressful and much more fun for you this way!

Unfortunately I did 'jump in' without obtaining the correct advise (see my post "Need total assistance with a two week old tank") but I'm really hoping you guys can help me rectify my terrible mistakes.
