Tropical Fish Books

Can anyone recommend some nice books on Tropical Fish and Tanks?
I know you can find it all on the internet nowadays but theres just
something about curling up with a nice book

I think that "the perfect aquarium" by jeremy gay is the best book I have jt even had detailed information on the nitrogen cycle and fishless cycles. I also have a DK tropical encyclopedia which has a lot of fish but less detailed information. I reccomend using the book depository to save money as reference books are overpriced

I am thinking of buying dr Axelrods freshwater tropical fish encyclopedia which retails at about $180

I would also suggest trying second hand book stores as a lot of people end this hobby due to poor advice and impatience

It covers pretty much everything.

If you are interested in a planted tank, try Ecology of the Planted Aquarium by Diana Walstad. It will give you some perspective on growing plants without all the trouble that many planted tanks can be. So called high tech planted tanks are not much fun unless you like plenty of hard maintenance work. I am a lazy fish keeper and the NPT that Diana describes is very easy to maintain well.
