Hi!

I have a 120 litre set up with 2 electric yellow labs, 2 black marble angels, 2 silver dollar, 1 red tail black shark, tank temperature sits around 27c/80f. It is a juwel rekord 800 with internal filter. Is it ever safe to turn the heater and filter off overnight or does it need to keep running 24/7.

First of all that is a very poor stocklist!! Second of all, the tank is not big enough for any of the fish you mention. Third of all... Why would you want to turn the heater and filter off?

You are Sooooo incredibly overstocked!

Oh and unless you want all the fish to go a bit more than belly up i suggest leaving the filter on constantly and the same with the heater. The heater will only come on when the water needs to be heated. The filter contains (unless you already know this (in which case you should more than why you should always keep the filter tunning)) Essential bacteria that break down wastes in the aquarium. Without this being on there is no water flow to the filter, therefore there is no ammonia to live on and the bacteria and fish will slowly die.

juwel rekord 800 with subtarte and filter etc will be close to 100L not 120L :good:

you need to sort out your stocklist
