my tank has just an inch of water in the bottom and the tropica in with it, ive tried siphoning it out  now im just about dead with a bad stomach! how else can i get rid? ive tried using a dust pan but the little bit in the bottom is a PITA. i cannot get rid of it! has anybody else had to do this? how did you get on?

AND IT SMELLS LIKE CRAP TOO!

Bold statement for a highly regarded product!!!

Why are you removing the substrate?

Any substrate will 'stink' when being removed. Nature of the beast I'm afraid.

When I last removed a substrate I used a dustpan and didn't try to 'load' it. Just went a bit at a time and then when there wasn't much left then I 'wiped' the rest out.

just a heat of the moment comment lol, the scape has finished due to a dodgy heater, which as left way for a reef tank. im trying to dilute the crap and siphon over and over lol.

get an aqua scoop as aaron suggest, mine is invaluable. or scoop tiny bits up on a credit card!

I got my eco-complete what was left out my tank by filling the aquarium part way up with water and syphon it up through a sieve at the end of the pipe makes the bottem spotless!
