I am going to order all my stuff for I.E.(selling my spider this weekend lol). For traces i want to use tropica plant nutrition, but should it be the + version or the normal?

Do you mean EI? ;) The normal version is just trace. The 'plus' version contains N and P as well. So if you're doing EI its better to add N and P separately so you can control the levels in the tank :)

I'm doing index estimative  ..oops lol.Would dosing potassium nitrate, mono potassium phosphate + tropica plant nutrition be ok then?

Thanks

Yep that's ideal :) you can add extra potassium via potassium sulphate but its generally not needed, but if you feel like you want some in reserve getting it with the rest would save on postage. But most people find they are adding enough potassium via the other two, so really only if you have the money free :)

500g will last years, I made up a 1lt bottle for my 4g nano and I've not even used half of that solution yet! And I only needed 40g of the power to make that so got 460g power left as well! so literally years! Even on a big tank (over 100g) it'll last a good 3-4 years. You could probably just get the 250g packet :)

If money is tight don't worry about the potassium sulphate, it not essential by any means and I doubt you'll need it, some people just like having it just in case :)

Also forget the storage container and use a 1lt mineral/coke bottle instead :) save you a few quid. Forget the root tabs as well, the tropica substrate along with EI and the tropica plant nutrition will give the plants everything they need.

EDIT -
I hope i don't mess it up
- you wont don't worry ;)

just check the phosphate in your tap water before you buy.

Mine is really high for some unknown reason. I had to use potassium sulphate instead of mono-potassium phosphate to keep my phosphate ballanced with N and K.

I have veered towards this route as well in that I now dose:

Pot Nit on Sun, Tue, Thurs
Pot Sulph on Sun, Tue
Pot Phos on Thurs.

This is because I also seem to have high phosphates (rural farming land Lincolnshire) and therefore just top up at the end of the week.

According to Tropica, Plant Nutrition is aimed at High Fish Loads whereas Plant Nutrition + is for low fish loads (In other words high fish load is already adding extra NP)

The root tabs are for some potted amazon swords which i will probably be moving arund some breeding tanks ;)

I suppose i'm pretty near lincolnshire.I'lll have to test my water for Pottasium sulphate. Can i get the test kit of aquaessentials? If not where from?

AE do them as do ebay but they won't be very accurate. I would just contact Anglian Water or whoever your water supplier is and ask them (they have to tell you by law)

You may as well also ask for Nitrates, Potasium, Iron Magnesium, Calcium as well and post up the results.

You may be surprised.
