Rather than us being "socially deprived", perhaps I could make the suggestion that you are "emotionally incapable"?

The internet completely revolutionises human social activity. On the net, you can be who you want, where and when. You can tell lies, you can cause pain, but to identify a human as 'emotionally incapable' from a few paragraphs he has typed on a forum is a very bold yet ignorant statement unfortunately.

There was no problem until you made one. I left this forum for months yet posters were still bone-picking my credentials. Surely that in itself is a ego-trip, the overiding feeling of superiority?

For the sake of your conscience, get off your high horses and carry on with being a enthusiast, rather then getting caught up in this pointless banter

I've noticed that in some of the other forums I go to there are people who register just to flame people (mostly in my political forums) and just about every post they make is a personal attack or insult. There is hardly a time that they bring something constructive to the table and always they are antagonistic to the rest of the group.

What the board did was set up a 10 post trial period; if a member, within the first 10 posts, attacked someone personally that person was banned.

I doubt things would ever get that bad on a forum about tropical fish; but it's an idea.

all i was trying to do was to help you in a way, so you can win the totm competition which you earned, if the tank was yours, i meant NO offence.

So answer this:

is the pics cardinal tetras IN the tank?

and if they are not, does it mean you shipped the cardinals to the owner of the pictures? who lives in sweden?

Again as I've continually stated I was wrong to do what I do. Everyone makes mistakes, and unfortunately I overstepped the boundary, and apologise for that.

I thank you for the support you have given the tank. You can try and tell me who's it is, but the biggest wager is that I feel emotionally attached to it.

Sadly though I am digusted by the way people reacted, so I only saw fitting to leave for a couple of months, to let this rubbish die down.

I still stand firm by the fact this is an online community, and arguably emotions are real, but they are only as real as you make them. As with the internet, you always have the ability to pull out, turn off your monitor and walk away, something you cant always do in life.

I feel sorry for posters to feel so frustrated by another posters comments/pictures etc.

IMO this is just spamming & trolling and flaming IN the trolling in flaming thread of all things. This is apparently a pinned topic and I don't think you should be carrying on in it. This isn't directed at one person but to all involved. Take your personal problems with each other elsewhere.

What you just said removed all credibility from you. A forum is another social interaction with real people whether you want to believe that or not. If you believe you can play those games online then you must believe you can do the same thing on the phone and in other areas.

For your sake you should hope the tank is yours, or come clean now, because I will be contacting Fintastic when they open and asking them to come here and deal with this situation. You wonder why I took the time to call them? Because people were claiming it wasn't your tank and I wanted to know. If they had stated it was just one they setup and not one currently located in there showroom I probably would not have posted.

What you have done is decieved people and lied. You have lost a tremendous amount of credibility to the point that I would question every tank or picture you post. I also question your knowledge at this point to be honest.

How you want to percieve the internet is not how over 90% of the people out here percieve and is definitely not how businesses percieve it. The net is not a place to hide who you are and decieve people, it is simply another medium just like the phone and mail. Would you write a decieving letter or tell lies on the phone? My guess is yes if you didn't know the person because you feel that it doesn't matter, they will never know who you are.

Yes, you are correct that it is a bold and ignorant assumption. My point was to show you that it is no more "bold or ignorant" than your initial conclusion that we are "socially deprived". If you decide to make (incorrect) character judgements of other people then expect to have the same done to you.

As for us having an ego-trip by going on about the problem, that is not the case. Rather, such things make us angry and people like to vent when they are angry. Is that not another typical human response.

Or perhaps because you would not act that way yourself, you cannot understand how or why others do.

I understand LM. It was just a bit shocking to find this topic so hot all of a sudden. I had to re-read to find out the root of the problem and how it was brought to this point, I see now.

The tank is not mine, the pictures are not mine. I lied, I cheated, I decieved you and other posters simply because I thought I could, but I couldnt.

My actions were wrong, and my credibility is lost.

But sadly to your dismay and many others as much as I feel my actions were immature and hurtful, I will move on and carry out the rest of my life exactly how it has always been.

I will wake up tommorow, you and this forum will be brushed aside.

I'm suprised that posters has felt such burning vulnerability, exploitation and hurt from a picture. As much as this is raw credibility and justification of his forum being a 'community', you would not be able to interact in todays exploitative society in the manner you do on the internet, you would simply crack...

So thankyou for wasting an hour of your life with me, now move on, continue posting, and keep on your quest of bringing the internet villians to justice..!!

Don't anyone worry. You have all used this thread exactly as it was intended.

This is a place to let our feelings out and keep them from interfering on other threads. A wrong was done and addressed.

Wrongdoings were spoken of and backed up with credible facts. We depend on the honesty and good will of each other to make this forum a success. It's good to express that.

I'm happy to know that other members feel as I do.

i probably shouldn't add my two cents but I am (such a bleeding heart liberal!) I kinda feel bad for Tjimbsoj. I know it's not right to take credit for others work and if I were the keeper of the tanks and pics he posted I would be upset. But to do something so silly is just plain sad. He obviously was trying to get something out of it, maybe wanted to feel special.
