Trip to a distant pet shop

we went for a drive today and we ended up stopping in this lovely little town.
We found a pet shop and zoomed inside - then zoomed straight out.

There wasn't a single tank in that shop that was clean, dead fish were littered everywhere and 3/4 of the tanks had dyed fish in them. They had a tank full of white parrot fish with pink and blue polka dots put all over them..

Yea. We get this a lot here. About the whole fish shops are terrible thing. It's usually Walmart, though. That must have been terrible!!! Did you complain to the manager? I think that that is probably the best thing you could have done in that situation, besides not buying anything.

manager wasn't in, otherwise I would have complained to him.
I complained to one of the employees though and she seemed to get the message

I've learned that new/different pet stores are always worth a look. Stores like the one you found are worth one look followed by one boycott. But when you find that diamond in the rough, it will make wading through all those other crappy pet stores worthwhile.
