triops

1: has anyone kept theses in there tanks?
2: are they pests?
3: what do they eat?
4: are they compatible with, cherry shrimp/ otos / neons

I haven't kept them (although have been tempted), generally speaking they are not even really compatible with their own species.
From reading up on them (well the Australian type which is most likely the only type I can get) they are veracious eaters and will predate on anything they can find. Bigger ones will eat smaller ones so shrimp are out of the question for being tank mates.

Most info on these guys I have found has been sites selling them in kits and they are all about the selling of a product not the actual habits of these fascinating creatures.

im really interested in them, been doing a little night time reading up on them, i know the ones in the UK are endangered so it would have to be from kits i got them, or buy a ton of egg's, do you just add water and they hatch? i might set up a small tank of them

With the eggs from what I have read you just add water ( preferably distilled, but dechlorinated water like for your fish would/ should be fine), I was doing some reading and the temp can be altred to warmer once they are a few days old, but I am sure if you buy a kit, it will have all the info, with it. I would say the minimum size tank you would want for one or two of these would be 20L, they are very active so the more area the better, also a larger tank might allow more to survive together.
