hey guys.... so I am getting desperate I see my dream of a N Beani fadin and I was wonderin if a Trimac will be a sutiable replacement for my dream of a super aggrisive cichlid?

Trimacs can be pretty aggro but imo, they aren't all like that. It's more of a hit and miss with this species. Have you thought about a festae or motaguense also or is your heart set on a tri?

A dovii or umbi would be a suitable replacement also if you have the tank.

no my heart aint set on the trimacs, I was thinkin agressive fish that I can get to start or at least house in my 75 gallon tank for life. you know me alway open to suggestion bro.

Wel, tri's can be pretty aggro if you get the right one. Flowerhorns, which I think are the nastiest of them all, are part trimac so they definately have it in them.

If you want a solo fish for a lifetime in a 75g you could go with a trimac, female festae, labiatus, citrinellus, motaguense among a few others. With the labiatus and citrinellus, you're almost guaranteed an aggro fish with every one. labiatus are my fav fish and have as much if not more personality than an Oscar with the 'tude to back it up.

If you want a really aggressive cichlid I would suggest a Flowerhorn, they are super aggressive, they are suited to smaller tanks than other fish of their size, and if you pay a pretty penny, you can get a first class specimine with amazing colours

Flowerhorn? Nah, why not put a REAL fish in your tank.

If you want color I vote for the festae, it's a stunning, big, and aggressive one that would be ok (alone)i n a 75 gallon tank.

I was looking for something similar to you for my 90 and ended up deciding on a Managuense (jaguar cichlid, different then Motaguense) Because it grows big but not massive like a Dovii, it has stunning markings (not color though), and while not the most aggressive, it is still very aggressive, and a true predator in form and function.

In the end you need to look at all the possiblities and decide what you like best of course.

you might not like hybrids, but they are REAL :p

alternatively if you want aggressiveness, ditch cichlids and get a red line snakehead or a Serrasalmus elongatus or a Serrasalmus rhombeus

or if you really love your cichlids try a Red Devil, a Jaguar Cichlid or even a pair of breeding Salvinis.

Innes sorry bro but I refuse to keep flowerhorns on principle. it is nothing against the fish its self I just don't belive in how they get the fish by spliceing genes.

Managuense are the same as trimacs. You can get some real mean sob's but I've seen quite a few sissies.

just thought that I would let you guys know that I just ordered a male red tiger motaguense from CM so we excited about this turn of events, I kind of lucked out as I was showin carrie pics of cichlids and guess who pops on msn non other than CM!!!!! got to talkin about good aggro cichlids and he mentioned the monta and I forgot to show carrie the pic till he said something to me. and carrie fell in love at first sight so I hope this guy is going to do me proud.
