Does anyone know if it is difficult to take out the box which is built in the corner where the filter is?
Just I have took internal filter out now so theres no need for it to be there and means I can have more space in the tank?
Cheers

Hello,

Is this one of the tanks which has the plastic filter housing? You'll probably find that is is just stuck in with blobs of silicone.

You should be able to "saw" through the silicone with something like a kitchen palette knife.

The remnants of the silicone blobs can be removed with the use of a scourer pad and plenty of water. I use the type that look like metal swarf (from your local pound shop) on tank rebuilds.

What does it matter if I have an external filter?
Do you think I would be able to take it out when the water is still in or would it be easier with the water out?

I got the trigon 190 brand new about a month ago and want to add an external but don't want to start chopping the lid up, so wanted to know any one with a trigon that's got an external how they did it?
