Just read this on Facebook for treating Whitespot, I've read about garlic being good for the fishes immune system but what about as a treatment for Whitespot?

Thanks :)

I'm sorry, could someone translate that into English for me? Jeez....

Anyway, my personal view is that whilst the raised temperature will indeed speed up the life cycle, it is unlikely to cause the parasite (yes, parasite, not paracite) to die before it reinfects. I believe you need something to actually kill the parasite - I personally go for medication, the twice I've suffered a whitespot outbreak, the med has sorted it in a week. Not 16 days.

Others like to use salt, but I can't comment on that as I've never tried that method.

Some fish cannot tolerate salt, some can. Some fish need a half dose of the medication, some can take the full dose. But there still needs to be something to kill the blighters, and even that FB post acknowledges that the garlic doesn't do that.
