Hi all,

I have a problem with one of my plants, its one of my Micranthemum Umbrosum My link.
It is getting brown to transparent leaves. Is this an Iron deficiency? I use Easylife Profito and Easylife Ferro weekly. Have a soil substrate and have also put in clay balls scattered in the gravel. My tank is 60l with a mini fluval CO2 kit and 2x 11watt lights. My tank has only been running for 6 days.

You cant see too clearly from the pic but they are transparent.

Can someone help??

If you#re adding enough CO2 it could be a flow issue - But equally, if you're adding CO2 you should really be using a complete fert regime.

What do you mean by a complete fert regime? What should I be doing??

It's generally accepted that when dosing CO2 you should supplement with everything a plant needs - Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorous (NPK) + Trace minerals...Copper, Iron, Manganese etc.
You're currently dosing the little ones and extra iron on top. You'd need Easylife Nitro, Kalium and Fosfo to complete the set. :good:

EDIT: That's if you want to continue on the current path - There's still the arguement you might just need to sort flow out to that plant, or reduce your light so it needs less CO2..

AHH ok cool, now I understand. I had no idea I had to use the other Easylife products too. Im having my light on for about 11 hours too..is that too long? So I should be putting in all those doses in at the same time once a week? So 6ml of each one every week? (for my 60l tank, 10ML FOR 100 LITRES)

As for the flow it would be fine, my internal filter is just above it and provides flow with its nozzle.

Again, with CO2 you should really be dosing everyday. Less light = Less problems if everything is running ok with say 6hrs I'd consider increasing it....
IMO

Ok maybe I will cut my light down to 8 hours a day, use Easylife carbo aswell as my Fluval mini co2 kit and see how it all goes. Thanks so much for your help. Theres so much involved in an aquarium! The things to buy are NEVER ENDING!
