That'll work just fine.

For any other folks out there wondering about their particular brand of Super Glue, just google the name (in this case I typed in loctite 495) and look for the MSDS (material safety data sheet) which will give you an exact list of the ingredients.

Good luck!

Thanks!

Plants arrived earlier this morning :)

Gunna make lunch for the boys, put the little guy down for a nap and dive right into it... litterally!

pictures to come later tonight :good:

Excellent, Get a full tank shot up so we can see the current set up, then we can advise on what "WE" would do, doesnt neceesaily mean you should, just what our opinions are pal :good:

Well here we go...
I was 100% happy with what i got :) seemed to be some real great quality plants. Not sure if I'm happy with what i did with it or not...

Phil, I checked on here after i got done, so i didnt see your post till afterwards. I was chomping at the bit though!

I'm still open to suggestions (even though after today, I dont want to mess with that tank for some time! really gave my patience a run for its money!) I did choose the super glue route, so may be a bit more difficult to move around.

So what do you think????

It's looking really good! Are you going to put a background on it? I like the arrangement of the stones and ferns.

thanks! yeah i was thinking about doing a background as well. Wasnt really sure on the best way to go about it. I noticed that they have a static cling type available... how do the other ones go on? just tape them or dabs of silicone...

What would you go with? I'm thinking straight black, unless i can find a really neat one that fits my design.

making a trip into town tomorrow night. got a few things i wanna pick up. that might be one of them :good:

If you decide to go straight black, why not spray paint the back of the tank. Just get a Black spray paint and spray the OUTSIDE Back panel black, comes up really well and will suit your gravel perfectly and I think would suit your rocks well too :good: I Did it with my 25G Project in my Sig below, Have a look pal and see what you think.

In terms of layout, Alot better than the original Scape, Need a few more plants I reckon though. Look on ebay for your plants, you will get alot more for your money than LFS. Id look at putting some Java Moss on the bogwood and some vallis along the back too mate

I've just got a piece of black fleece on the back of each of mine, held on with clear packing tape. Done right (very smoothly) you can't see the tape, and the fleece gives off no reflection.

I thought it looked a little bare too... I didnt want to place a 100$ order right away. the wife would have nutted me! I know it will take some time, but as the ferns and anubias grow, i was going to fill in a little more as i can. I was going to fill in the back more as they grew too... but you think some vallis would look good inbetween them?? I was also planning some type of moss on the wood too. thatll be the next phase :good:

both good ideas with the paint and fleece. I dont feel like moving my setup any time soon, so phil, sorry to say that paint is out... lol! might just take the lazy way out and buy a background... sigh...

Ill sanp a pic if i decide on a background!

thanks for the comments!

well i came back from town last night with a glossy black background. I also picked up some of that liquid sealer as i was unsure how the best way to secure it was.

Got done with it this morning, and I am super happy with how it turned out! :hyper: The sealer made for a nearly flawless finsh. The only thing was it took A LONG time to sort out. for one, when it says 'apply liberally'... you dont need that much! I spent well over an hour smoothing the bubbles and excess sealer out!! I must say that it was worth the work :)

I have to wait till later tonight to snap a few pics. there is now way i could get a decent picture with all of the glare!

Now next step is to get some brighter green plants in the back to make it pop! my anacharis plants blend in a little too much :/ still looks good though :good:

Hard to believe that's the same tank! Very, very nice! Amazing what a difference the black background makes, doesn't it?
