Tpn+ Overdosing

OD ing TPN plus doesn't cause algae to grow. In fact algae with thrive in low levels of nutrients but your plants will not. OD ing on flourish excel doesn't cause algae growth either.

Well said.

There is a lot of confusion and discussion about dosing nutrients and liquid carbon... Maybe one of the more experienced members should pin a note?

I think the confusion is how much. Opinions and the manufacturers guidlines are very different.

Ill add a question here rather than starting another thread for the same thing. How much TPN+ and easycarbo would you dose daily on a 160 litre tank, moderately planted, with moderate lighting.

Thanks

Its generally agreed here that you add 1ml per 20L... If you feel it can go up or down by keeping a close eye on the plants you can change it from that. If you feel unsafe doing it just move it up from the manufacturing guideline.

Easycarbo, I think you just follow the amount it says on the back.

Although you may add more as i'm not sure what moderate lighting is? :p

You can od on easycarbo/excel manufacturers guidelines, again if your tank is heavy planted then you would up the dose accordingly or if you need to spot dose. I dose 8mls of easycarbo in my 190ltr with no I'll effect on snails or shrimp. The plants look really well, saying this, I wouldn't go straight ahead and dode that amount, I would start at guidlelines and work up the amount.
