I've been using TPN for a while now and happy with the results from it, but i've just noticed TPN+ is the same price? So now i'm thinking should i be getting TPN+ seeing as it's not going to cost any more. I have quite a heavy stocking list though:

1 x Common plec
1 x BN plec
1 x L201
1 x L134
1 x L018
8 x Lamp eye killifish
8 x Black widow tetra
4 x Cherry shrimp
20 x Neon tetra
9 x Rummy nose tetra
4 x glowlight tetra
4 x black neon tetra
1 x Blue german ram
2 x dwarf cockatoo cichlid (m and f)
3 x bronze cory
2 x jullii cory
4 x swordtales (2m and 2f)
7 x pentazona barbs
4 x clownloach

But nitrates are still below 20ppm after 2 weeks (do a water change every 2 weeks, so test it just before)

If your plants are doing fine with TPN then why fix what isn't broken? The TPN + just has added nitrate and phosphate. You might however notice that your plants grow even better with the + though... lol

ha ha thats exactly my thoughts!! I should also be going pressurize co2 next month (said that last month  ) if it makes a difference? (diy co2 at the moment)

Yes it does, if you are going to drive growth with higher lighting and pressurised CO2 your plants will use more phosphate and nitrate, so may need the +.

DIY CO2 is that tank eh? How big is it? I want to try it but I have been told my tank is too big.

You can use DIY on larger tanks (it's better than nothing), you just have to chain more bottles together to get enough produced, and stagger the refills. It is however hader to maintain stable levels of CO2 in larger tanks using DIY, pressurised is much less bother.

TPN is designed for lightly stocked tanks

TPN+ is desogned for heavier stocked tanks as more fish = more NO3 & PO4

Surely thats the wrong way round Aaron?

TPN+ has added N+P for tanks in which the fish don't produce enough. i.e. lightly stocked tanks.

For heavily stocked tanks TPN is better. :good:

yeah i thought they were the wrong way around!!

Also i wouldnt advise diy co2 on a big tank, its a right pain in the ass!!
