I just had to do the toughest thing :(

My rainbow got some kind of tumor on his stomach a while ago. We really tried to help him out. We got a hospital tank, and treated him. It looked like he made it there for a while.

Unfortunately, the tumor came back. Then he kept getting sicker, to the point when he was just hanging around at the back of the tank and brething heavily. He was off his food.

After a few days of this I realised that he had to be put down. I did some reading and settled on the clove oil method. It worked really well, and looked painless. He just nodded off :( :-( :-(

After being extracted from the wild (by a friend), and travelling 2 thousand K he died with me. How sad :(

sorry to hear about your fish. Sounds like you did everything possible for him :-(

I use the clove oil method and have to say it looks the most peaceful way for them to go. They just fall asleep and don't wake up

:rip: little guy

Sorry to hear about your loss but at least you know its not suffering anymore.

Whats the clove oil method, Ive seen the pinned topic above but cant see any mention of it.

Thanks

I have never heard of that method either.

Had to take my mums 16 year old terrier ***** to the vets saterday, they put her down as she had very advanced liver cancer, but it was the most peaceful thing I have seen she was more bothered by the hair being shaved from her leg than the injection. Very sad but needed sometimes.

I spent a good part of Sunday procrastinating about this. Plug fish Euthanasia into google and work through them. Below is a starter. It really was very peacefull, no thrashing or outward distress at all. :)
