What do you guys think are the hardier species?

I gotta say mbuna these can go through anything

When I first bought my fish I hadn't cycled my tank and put six african cichlids in it a tengallon with only ugf filtration whats worse was my first watter change wasn't for six weeks and then only consisted of 20%, with my first gravel vac ocureing some four months in the two haps died a nimbochromis venustus nonmbuna survived, along with the mbuna two labidochromis caeruleus, and one maylandia lombardoi,

Another thing is buy my my melanchromis johhani the guy fishing for me droped the fish from pretty much above his head at least six feet splat onto the floor(cement) big noise, but this guy was fine and i think it eneded up in my bag, but don't remember

A couple other minor issues include my ocasional massive 80% watter changes refilled with mostly cold watter, and the fact I tend to forget to plug my heater back in every so often,

Note- I am not an ignorant cruel fish keeper and these instances are slightly though only slightly exagerated and mostly isolated

Tiger barbs have been the hardiest fish I've owned.

Strange, I had a feeling you where going to say that though

Oscars are tough as nails. It takes real talent to kill an oscar.
My oscar lept out of his tank and fell three feet to the carpet, but he's fine

Yeah I had a clown loach flopping on the floor for 5 minutes and I've still got him

I've heard that zebra danios are really hardy, although I've never had them.

Have to go with mbuna and in particular labidochromis caereleus...someone once told me they could live in a toilet....having kept them since I reckon they were probably right!!

my platys and fire parrots are the longest living residents in my tanks...oh and the plec and the mystus!the mystus have lived through allsorts including ICH,high nitrates,fungus,2 different tanks and more and theyre about 2years old!

Plecs can live through abou anything!!!

My head and tail light tetra was one of my first fish and I still got him almost 16 months later!

I would say goldfish as well.
