hi everyone great site, quick question please. i aiready have a cycled and running tank set up with a few fish in there, they consist of a couple of albino loach three or four harlequins (spelling) and two zebras, the big question is could i add goldfish to the tank or should i concentrate with adding to the tropical side?
Also, does my fluval work better totally submerged or with the water spout out above the surface?
anyone...

you shouldnt as they will destroy the bio load.. but you can if you want.. wont be wise

as said as above.. if u want goldfish? start a goldfish tank but be prepared to have a pretty good sized tank as some grow up to 12-14" long...

I have goldfish with my tropicals but boy i wish they were in thier own tank yet i dont have a bigger tank for them... so im stuck with them in the tank thier in(55gallon)...

Personally I wouldent. i once kept 2 gold fish and a male betta together and the goldfish bullid my betta! so they mey nip your fish.

also goldfish poop allot and are mutch MESSIER than tropical.

but you can, but i wouldent recomend it

No, goldfish are coldwater and you have a tropical tank.

For the Fluval, you want it to give some agitation of the water surface. More agitation = more oxygenation.

No, goldfish are coldwater and you have a tropical tank.

This is the major point. They live in two different habitats. True, goldfish will push your bio-load but The health of all fish will be hurt if a middle ground of water conditions is tried. So as everyone else said, no
