Please check out this small video of my tank and please tell me is my filter making too much surface bubblies.
the pipe is little above water surface. Should I put some more water in to submerge it or leave this way?
It is stock inside filter that ocmes with Juwel Rekord 80l.

And yes, I made DIY CO2 genreator. What is the approx. time to wait for the first bubbles to show up?

Thank You very much.

Never known a juwel to have that much flow with bubbles, can you turn it down abit.

The only way to slow it down is to pour some more water in the tank and submerge teh filter pipe. Would that be a problem? I'm affraid that the filter box d lose its purpose then..or not?
And the good news is that CO2 bubles showd up and running :shifty:

As long as it's not blowing the fish a round leave it.

The tank is still in cycling process so I can't give the correct info about that hehehe
I will maybe need to reconsider gettin some fish from tetra family and take some fast fish like Puntius tetrazona :hyper:

looks to me like the filter is sucking air somewhere. but the surface of my tank, is far more disturbed than that and i only have airstones, with my filter outlet below water level.

i wouldn't say that it is sucking air because it is 99.9% submerged, except that pipe which is around 10mm above the water surface.
I will leave it this way untill the tank is cycled adn fish inside.

The surface disturbance will gas off the CO2.
what's your suggestion? I use an airstone on the left side of the tank for CO2.
Should i put some more water in the tank to slow down teh air bubbles coming from the filter pipe?

Yeah make sure the outflow of water is under the surface, Co2 leaves the water easily so you want good water movement around the tank but not surface agitation.

The tube sticking up out of the water is usually designed to be like that, so that air can be introduced into the water. I think it's often referred to as a venturi.

My Fluval 4+ has this, and while I was adding CO2 I had the supplied plug fitted so no bubbles were introduced and so no CO2 was lost. Now that I'm no longer adding CO2 I let the bubbles in to the water.

Regarding the strong stream of water - my fish seem to love the current. They are constantly swimming against and with the stream, and chasing each other around - I am convinved they enjoy it. However the fast stream only exists at the front top of the tank, running from right to left. And there are several places in the tank where there is little or no current, so that they don't have to constantly swim for their lives!

A venturi is a slight narrowing then expansion in diameter inside a pipe designed to create a region of low pressure just beyond said narrowing. I dont think its called a venturi, lets call it a... filter-outlet-currenty-bubbly-making-thing

Your description is pretty much spot on. Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venturi

According to that article and the way my own "filter-outlet-currenty-bubbly-making-thing" works, what I have is a venturi. The water exiting the filter spout goes through a narrowing process, and at this point there is the tube that sticks up out of the water. The resultant lower pressure in the tube is sufficient to encourage air to be drawn in to mix with the water.

Sorry to be nerdy, but your words forced me into it!!!
