Is there such a thing? I have my external outlet half in the water and half out, how do you have yours?

I have one of my filters arranged as you said, my other two are setup so the flow nozzle is pointed towards the waters surface.

Keith.

I did tank maintenence today is all, it just seems like the filter is really strong at the minute! Il just re-arrange it slightly so its under a bit more :p

Can you ajust the flow rate?

Keith.

Not without it causing more noise than my delicate ears can tolerate. Its only a Fluval 105 :(

You could try adjusting the flow nozzle so it hits the back of the tank.

Keith.

Iv just dunked it under the water a bit more, slightly happier with it now.

EDIT: Now i make myself worried that their wont be enough oxygen in the tank >.> Honeslty im so indesicive sometime :(

I have air bubbles coming up from under my outlet so that they get caught up into it and then pushed around the tank!

Surface agitation shouldn't harm fish and normally ensures good aeration. So unless the noise is really annoying or current too stong for fish to swim don't worry. I place my spraybars above the surface with the nozzle holes positioned so the water hits surface at 45' and creates bubbles. My other filters have their outlets just above the surface to agitate it.
